Recommendations on the use of Hexetidine in Pregnancy & Lactation:
Though not associated with teratogenic or adverse neonatal effects, the use of vaginal Hexetidine is considered controversial and an obsolete treatment. It was once used in late pregnancy for reducing neonatal infection from group B streptococcal infections (Weidinger et al., 1991).
