Side effects of Chloramphenicol, Medroxyprogesterone acetate :
Mechanism of Action
CHLORAMPHENICOL
Chloramphenicol is lipid-soluble, allowing it to diffuse through the bacterial cell membrane. It then reversibly binds to the l16 protein of the 50s subunit of bacterial ribosomes, where transfer of amino acids to growing peptide chains is prevented (perhaps by suppression of peptidyl transferase activity), thus inhibiting peptide bond formation and subsequent protein synthesis
MEDROXYPROGESTERONE ACETATE
Progestins diffuse freely into target cells in the female reproductive tract, mammary gland, hypothalamus, and the pituitary and bind to the progesterone receptor. Once bound to the receptor, progestins slow the frequency of release of gonadotropin releasing hormone (gnrh) from the hypothalamus and blunt the pre-ovulatory lh surge
