Alverine citrate, Simeticone is used for:
Alverine
Used to relieve cramps or spasms of the stomach and intestines. It is also useful in treating irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and similar conditions. It can also be used to help relieve period pain. Alverine citrate is also under investigation to increase the cytotoxic effects of the proteasome inhibitor MG132 on breast cancer cells.
Simethicone
1. To relieve pain and discomfort caused by excess gas in the intestine and stomach in cases such as flatulence and post operative gaseous distention. 2. It could be used also prior to an endoscopy to eliminate foam, gas and air from the gastrointestinal tract to reduce gas shadow which will result in better visualization.
