Indications

Diphenhydramine topical is used for: Pruritus

Adult Dose

Pruritus Indicated for temporary relief of pain and itching associated with insect bites, minor skin irritations, and rashes due to poison ivy, poison oak, or poison sumac Apply 1-2% topically to affected area; not to exceed 3-4 times daily Not for use on large areas of the body

Child Dose

Pruritus Indicated for temporary relief of pain and itching associated with insect bites, minor skin irritations, and rashes due to poison ivy, poison oak, or poison sumac <2 years: Safety & efficacy not established >2 years: Apply 1-2% topically to affected area; not to exceed 3-4 times daily Not for use on large areas of the body

For external use only Not for use on large areas of the body Do not use with any other product containing diphenhydramine Use on chicken pox or measles only if directed by physician

Pregnancy-Lactation

Pregnancy Category: B Lactation: Unknown if topical diphenhydramine excreted in human breastmilk; orally administered diphenhydramine is excreted into human milk and regular use is known to inhibit lactation
