Mechanism of Action

Epalrestat is aldose reductase inhibitor. Epalrestat reduces sorbitol accumulation in the sciatic nerve, erythrocytes. Epalrestat may improve motor and sensory nerve conduction velocity and subjective neuropathy symptoms.
