Isoconazole

Indications

Isoconazole is used for: Vaginal mycoses, Skin fungal infections

Adult Dose

Vaginal Vaginal mycoses Adult: As a pessary: 600mg as a single dose or 300mg once daily for 3 days. As a 1% vaginal cream: apply once daily for 7 days. Topical/Cutaneous Skin fungal infections Adult: To be applied as a 1% or 2% cream on affected areas.

Pregnancy, lactation. May damage rubber or latex contraceptives and additional contraceptive measures are necessary during local administration.

Adverse Effects

Side effects of Isoconazole : Local reactions including burning and itching. Overgrowth of non-susceptible organisms.

Mechanism of Action

Isoconazole is an imidazole antifungal with a broad spectrum of activity. It is also active against some gram positive bacteria.
