Methyl Salicylate 30% + Menthol 10% + Camphor 4% Topical

Indications

Methyl Salicylate 30% + Menthol 10% + Camphor 4% Topical is used for: Back pain, shoulder pain, neck pain, joint pain, arthritis, strains

Adult Dose

Adults: Apply on affected area not more than 3 to 4 times daily.

Child Dose

Children 12 years of age and older: Apply on affected area not more than 3 to 4 times daily.

Contra Indications

Hypersensitivity to salicylate or any of its ingredients. Severe renal impairment.

Precautions

Avoid contact with the eyes and mucous membranes. Do not bandage tightly, wrap or cover until washing the area. It should not be applied to wounds or damaged skin. It should not be used immediately after bath. Wash hand thoroughly after applying.

Pregnancy-Lactation

Pregnancy Category: C Lactation: Unknown whether distributed in breast milk

Adverse Effects

Side effects of Methyl Salicylate 30% + Menthol 10% + Camphor 4% Topical : Stinging/burning/tingling sensation of skin. Redness or irritation may occur, especially in persons with sensitive skin. Adverse reactions possibly involved are mild to moderate local irritation, erythema, rash, desquamation, pruritis and relative local reaction at the application site.

Mechanism of Action

Anti-inflammatory, analgesia, local anesthesia. Menthol is used mainly for the symptomatic relief of sinusitis, bronchitis and similar conditions. It may be used as an inhalation, ointment or pastilles.
