Neomycin Sulphate 0.4% + Polymixin B Sulphate + Pramoxine 1% Topical
Indications
Neomycin Sulphate 0.4% + Polymixin B Sulphate + Pramoxine 1% Topical is used for:
Burns, Scrapes, Skin and skin structure infections, Cuts
Adult Dose
Topical
Adults: Apply on the area 1 to 3 times daily
Child Dose
Topical
Children 2 years of age and older: Apply on the area 1 to 3 times daily
Renal Dose
Administration
Clean the affected area. Apply a small amount of this product (an amount equal to the surface area of the tip of a finger) on the area.
May be covered with a sterile bandage.
Contra Indications
Hypersensitivity to aminoglycosides and any of its components. Pre-existing nerve deafness. TB, fungal or viral infections. Do not use in external eardrum if tympanic membrane is perforated.
Precautions
Possibility of ototoxicity, nephrotoxicity and exogenous hyperadrenocorticism if used in large quantities or on large areas for prolonged use

Side effects of Neomycin Sulphate 0.4% + Polymixin B Sulphate + Pramoxine 1% Topical :
Skin sensitisation. Cream: Burning, itching, irritation, hypopigmentaion, skin atrophy, striae.
Mechanism of Action
Neomycin: Interferes with bacterial protein synthesis by binding to 30S ribosomal subunits.
Polymyxin B: Bactericidal; causes leakage of bacterial membrane.
Pramoxine provides local anesthetic effect.
