Indications

Oxytetracycline 3% + Polymixin B Sulphate 0.013% Topical is used for: Superficial skin infections

Adult Dose

Adult: Apply to the affected area on sterile gauze 2 or 3 times daily.

Child Dose

Child: Apply to the affected area on sterile gauze 2 or 3 times daily.

Mechanism of Action

Oxytetracycline binds reversibly to the 30S and possibly 50S ribosomal subunits, thus inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis and arresting cell growth. It is active against a wide range of gram-positive and gram-negative organisms. Polymyxin B: Bactericidal; causes leakage of bacterial membrane.
