Indications

Sertaconazole Topical is used for: Tinea pedis

Adult Dose

Topical/Cutaneous Tinea pedis Adult: As 2% cream: Apply to affected area bid for 4 wk.

Child Dose

<12 years old: Safety & efficacy not established

Contra Indications

Hypersensitivity.

Precautions

Discontinue if irritation or sensitivity develop. Pregnancy and lactation. Monitoring Parameters Reassess diagnosis if no clinical improvement after 2 wk. Lactation: not known if distributed into milk; use caution

Interactions

Adverse Effects

Side effects of Sertaconazole Topical : Contact dermatitis, dry skin, burning skin, application site reaction, skin tenderness, erythema, pruritus, vesiculation, desquamation, hyperpigmentation.

Mechanism of Action

Sertaconazole alters fungal cell wall membrane permeability. It inhibits the CYP450-dependent synthesis of ergosterol.
