Adverse Effects
Side effects of Sodium Stibogluconate :
Anorexia, Nausea/vomiting, Abdominal pain, ECG changes, Headache, Lethargy, Myalgia, Raised liver enzymes, Coughing and substernal pain, Anaphylaxis (rare), Fever, Sweating, Flushing, Vertigo, Bleeding from nose or gum, Jaundice, Rash, Pain and thrombosis on intravenous administration, intramuscular injection also painful
Mechanism of Action
Reduction in the fructose diphosphate and an inhibition of glycolysis.
