Indications
Trimebutine Maleate is used for:
Irritable bowel syndrome, Chronic gastritis
Adult Dose
Oral
Irritable bowel syndrome
Adult: 300-600 mg/day in 3 divided doses.
Chronic gastritis
Adult: 300 mg/day in 3 divided doses.
Elderly: Use with caution.
Child Dose
Renal Dose
Administration
May be taken with or without food.
Contra Indications
Patients with known hypersensitivity to trimebutine maleate or any excipient.
Precautions
Elderly; pregnancy, lactation.

Adverse Effects
Side effects of Trimebutine Maleate :
Trimebutine Maleate is generally well tolerated. The infrequently reported adverse effects are as follows: a) Gastrointestinal: Dry mouth, foul taste, diarrhea, dyspepsia, epigastric pain, nausea, constipation, b) CNS: Drowsiness, fatigue, dizziness, hot/cold sensations, headache etc.
Mechanism of Action
Trimebutine is a GI motility regulator with antispasmodic properties.
