Indications

Monoprost Drops is used for: Open-angle glaucoma, Ocular HTN

Adult Dose

Adult: As 0.005% eye drop: Instill 1 drop in affected eye once daily in every evening.

Hypersensitivity.

Precautions

Do not use within 5 min of thiomersal-containing preparations. Aphakia or pseudophakia with torn posterior lens cap or anterior chamber lenses; risk factors for cystoid macular oedema; brittle or severe asthma; history of intraocular inflammation; inflammatory, neovascular, angle-closure or congenital glaucoma; pregnancy, lactation. Remove contact lenses during use. Lactation: not known whether distributed into milk; use with caution

Interactions

Paradoxical elevations in IOP w/ other prostaglandins, prostaglandin analogs or prostaglandin derivatives.

Adverse Effects

Mechanism of Action

Latanoprost, a synthetic analogue of prostaglandin F2alpha, reduces the IOP by increasing the outflow of aqueous humour.
