Adverse Effects

Side effects of Bisoprolol + Amlodipine : Edema, headache, increase heart rate, sneezing, fatigue, leg cramps, dry mouth. Other adverse events reported were gastric irritation, angina, asthma, cold extremities, cough, decrease in libido, dizziness, facial flushing, postural hypotension, skin rash, sleep disturbance and vertigo.

Mechanism of Action

Bisoprolol selectively and competitively blocks β1-receptors but has little or no effect on β2-receptors except at high doses. Amlodipine relaxes peripheral and coronary vascular smooth muscle. It produces coronary vasodilation by inhibiting the entry of Ca ions into the slow channels or select voltage-sensitive channels of the vascular smooth muscle and myocardium during depolarisation. It also increases myocardial oxygen delivery in patients w/ vasospastic angina.
