Gupisone Overview
Gupisone generic name is Prednisolone. Prednisolone is a steroid medication that is used to treat a wide variety of inflammatory and immune-mediated conditions, including allergic disorders, skin conditions, respiratory diseases, blood disorders, and certain types of cancer. It works by reducing inflammation and suppressing the immune system. Prednisolone is available in both oral and intravenous forms and can also be used as an eye drop or an inhaler.
Prednisolone can cause serious side effects, especially if taken for a long time or at a high dose, such as weight gain, diabetes, osteoporosis, high blood pressure, cataracts, and increased risk of infections.
It's important to take prednisolone exactly as prescribed by your doctor and to follow the recommended dosage schedule. Your doctor may need to monitor your blood sugar and bone density while you are taking this medication. It's also essential to inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding or planning to become pregnant.

Pregnancy-Lactation
Pregnancy
Prednisolone shown to be teratogenic in mice when given in doses 1-10 times human dose; dexamethasone, hydrocortisone, and prednisolone were ocularly applied to both eyes of pregnant mice five times per day on days 10 through 13 of gestation; a significant increase in the incidence of cleft palate observed in fetuses of treated mice; there are no adequate well-controlled studies in pregnant women; prednisolone should be used during pregnancy only if potential benefit justifies potential risk to fetus
Lactation
Not known whether topical ophthalmic administration of corticosteroids could result in sufficient systemic absorption to produce detectable quantities in breast milk; systemically administered corticosteroids appear in human milk and could suppress growth, interfere with endogenous corticosteroid production, or cause other untoward effects
Because of potential for serious adverse reactions in nursing infants from prednisolone, a decision should be made whether to discontinue nursing or to discontinue drug, taking into account importance of drug to mother
Interactions
Efficacy of Prednisolone may be reduced by phenobarb, phenytoin, rifampicin.
